It’s been a couple of months since we heard anything new concerning Shane Black’s The Predator. It is being reported however, that Benicio Del Toro is currently in talks to appear in the film, although nothing is yet confirmed.
The Sin City/Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas actor (pictured in The Wolfman) is not the only name to have been bandied around for the film, with James Franco having been whispered about for the film’s lead, Quinn McKenna. Then there’s the rumours regarding the possible return of a certain former governor as Dutch, although all Black has said on that front is that “…it’s something we’re looking into.”
A present-day sequel to the 1987 original, Black’s new vision was penned by The Monster Squad/Night Of the Creeps director Fred Dekker. On producing duties is John Davis, unsurprising as he has produced all previous Predator films.
The Predator is due to begin shooting at the end of the month in Vancouver, with a tentative release date set for February 9th, 2018.
