BEETLEJUICE 2 SET PHOTOS REVEAL WINONA RYDER’S RETURN AS LYDIA DEETZ

Posted on: May 26th, 2023

Filming is underway in London for the hotly anticipated sequel Beetlejuice 2, and paparazzi shots reveal our first look at returning cast member Winona Ryder.

Seen from afar sat in a car, Ryder looks identical to how she appeared in the 1988 original. With Lydia Deetz’s trademark pale visage and oddly cut black hair in place, it’s difficult to believe 35 years have passed since Ryder last played the role.

Whilst the production is trying their hardest to keep everything under wraps, it is inevitable that photos like these will leak and quickly spread, further building hype for the film.

Plot details are currently unknown, remaining closely guarded, but the assembled cast is what has fans on the edge of their seats with anticipation.

Alongside Ryder, original cast members Michael Keaton and Catherine O’Hara are set to return. Keaton will be reprising his iconic role of the titular demon, whilst O’Hara will once again play Ryder’s eccentric mother Delia.

Assembled alongside the returnees, a name list of newcomers also has audiences eager to know more about the project. Jenna Ortega of Scream and Wednesday fame will portray Ryder’s daughter, Matrix star Monica Bellucci has also allegedly been cast to play the wife of Keaton’s Beetlejuice. Additionally, name actors Justin Theroux and Willem Dafoe have been cast in undisclosed roles.

With a talented cast, a director held in high regard and a score by Danny Elfman, expectations for this long-awaited sequel are sky high. We’ll be on the lookout for any further nuggets of information.
