A fair few of you probably played the indie game Sylvio this year, but you’ll be glad to know that the game has garnered a sequel – Sylvio 2 – and you can check out the beautifully atmospheric teaser for it here.
If the teaser has you interested then you can head to Steam to give the original game a try. You’ll play as the investigator Juliette Waters as she delves in to mysterious happenings at an abandoned theme park. The sequel plans to bring back Juliette in a larger open world and, strangely, set the game in broad daylight. This shouldn’t discourage you, because it will mean those behind the game will have to work even harder to scare you, so if anything, it will be bigger and even more frightening.
Synopsis:
Juliette Waters, ghost recorder and EVP specialist, is back again to face the darkness that resides in Saginaw Family Park. The story takes off where the original Sylvio ended; the park has been ravished by a forest fire and heavy rainstorms, resulting in extensive flooding. Juliette travels the vast park by foot and with the help of a dinghy, solving environment puzzles, searching for spirit activity, and exploring the lands.
When speaking about the game Niklas Swanber (the game’s director) said, “Sylvio 2 is built for the horror game enthusiast and tries to push the boundaries of what has been done in horror games up till this date.” So don’t expect the game to hold back on its horror elements!
