Horror legend Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, From Beyond, You’re Next) is set to produce horror-comedy The Wildness, alongside Matthias Mellinghaus of Bron Studios. The raucous creature feature comes from Bron’s genre label The Realm.
The Wildness is written by former horror critic Evan Dickson and directed by Marcel Sarmiento, a rising name in the genre having directed 2008’s Deadgirl and segments of The ABCs of Death (D is for Dogfight) and V/H/S Viral (Vicious Circles).
“The story follows a ski bum who’s pushing 40 and still has a penchant for drugs, babes and transcendental meditation. He’s forced to become an unlikely hero in order to save a mountainside community too drunk on wild parties and over-development to notice that their kids are being systematically turned into werewolves.”
Bron Studios’ Aaron L. Gilbert and Garrick Dion will executive produce along with Jason Cloth of Creative Wealth Media Finance.
The Wildness is due to begin filming in Vancouver in January 2017. Casting is currently under way.
