An atmospheric trailer has landed for The Disappointments Room that stars Kate Beckinsale as a mother in peril. The film better impress or we can see the title being horrendously mocked or used against it, don’t you think?
The story follows a family moving into their dream home, but finding a mysteriously locked door that unleashes supernatural evils. The trailer doesn’t offer too many surprises; doors close on their own and a ghostly child runs up a spiral staircase, but it does conjure a lot of mystery. If the door unleashes truly terrifying horrors, then maybe we will be in for something pleasantly chilling.
The Disappointments Room comes from director D. J. Caruso (Eagle Eye, Disturbia) and has a script written by Wentworth Miller; the actor from Prison Break, but also the writer of Park Chan-Wook’s impressive Stoker. The film additionally stars Lucas Till and Gerald McRaney and will be released on 9th September in the USA.
