While it was initially reported that Osgood Perkins (Gretel & Hansel) would be helming the planned adaptation of Paul Tremblay’s horror novel A Head Full of Ghosts, that no longer seems to be the case. This week, we’re hearing news that Scott Cooper (Antlers) is now directing the film, which will star Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood).
In A Head Full of Ghosts, eight-year-old Merry sees her family torn apart when her older sister shows signs of a strange and frightening affliction. Two decades later, Merry’s traumatic past resurfaces when a journalist looks into the case, forcing her to relive and reconsider the events of her childhood.
Robert Downey Jr. will serve as an executive producer on the adaptation. Cooper is currently revising the most recent draft of the script.
