It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from the Guillermo del Toro-produced Antlers, but today we can report that the film has now gone into production.
Antlers already has its producers in place, in the formidable aforementioned Guillermo del Toro, as well as The Dark Knight trilogy writer David S. Goyer and Arbitrage’s Kevin Turen. The production sees del Toro continuing his relationship with Fox Searchlight, who put out his acclaimed The Shape of Water earlier this year.
Synopsis:
In Antlers, a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, become entwined with a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.
The film is written by Henry Chaisson (Open 24 Hours) and Nick Antosca (The Forest, Channel Zero), and is based on Antosca’s short story The Quiet Boy. The film stars Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane and Amy Madigan.
Anything with del Toro attached to it gets my vote and attention, so I can’t wait to see and hear more about Antlers.
