It’s been quite a while since we had an update for you on Alexandre Aja’s Halle Berry vehicle Never Let Go. Now we have quite the unexpected move from Lionsgate, announcing that the film will be landing in theatres this fall.

Described as a psychological thriller, Never Let Go will see Berry star as the mother of twin sons. According to reports, the film will detail their fight against an “evil force,” and how they must remain physically tethered together to survive its assaults.

Though vague, we’re happy to have more content from Aja, who has made quite the name for himself over the past two decades. The director has helmed genre hits including Haute Tension, The Hills Have Eyes, P2 and Crawl.

His latest offering will hit screens on September 27th 2024, with Lionsgate moving the project into the spot previously occupied by Saw XI.

Berry fans will no doubt be delighted to have a confirmed date when they can catch the actress back in the horror genre. Berry’s previous genre project, Mothership, was scrapped by Netflix almost two years after the project was completed. This means Berry’s first genre role since 2002’s Gothika will remain unseen.

Now Never Let Go will remedy this flub, and bring Berry back to the horror fold. How will she and Never Let Go fare with audiences? We’ll be sure to let you know!
