A few years after the release of his novel Salem’s Lot, Stephen King wrote a prequel, Jerusalem’s Lot. It was published in 1978’s Night Shift, the author’s first collection of short stories. And Epix has just given a straight-to-series order for a 10-episode adaptation of the story, with Adrien Brody (Splice) set to star.
Described as an intense and terrifying reimagining of classic gothic horror, the series will be set in the 1850s and will follow Captain Charles Boone (Brody). After his wife dies at sea, Boone moves with his three children to his ancestral home in Preacher’s Corners, Maine. There, he must confront both his family’s sordid history and the darkness that has plagued them for generations…
Peter and Jason Filardi will be showrunning, writing, and executive producing the series, which is expected to premiere in the autumn of 2020.
