Blumhouse TV and Amazon Studios are gearing up to add new stories to their Welcome to the Blumhouse project, which kicked off last year with the release of Evil Eye, Black Box, Nocturne, and The Lie. Among the 2021 releases will be Bingo, a new horror film from director Gigi Saul Gurrero (Into the Dark: Culture Shock) that will star Adriana Barraza (Drag Me to Hell)!
Barraza will play Lupita, a strong and stubborn “chingona” (badass) who grew up in the barrio of Oak Springs, a neighbourhood that was formerly full of crime and dangerous characters. Having dedicated her life to cleaning up the neighbourhood and creating a community the residents could be proud to call home, Lupita and her friends refuse to let Oak Springs be gentrified. Little do they know, their beloved bingo hall is about to be sold to a force more powerful than money…
Bingo was written by Guerrero, Shane McKenzie, and Perry Blackshear. Other upcoming Welcome to the Blumhouse titles include The Manor, Black as Night, and Madres.
