Tucker and Dale Vs Evil writer/director Eli Craig is returning to the world of horror comedies with his second feature, and he’s bagged the reliably awesome Adam Scott to lead the cast.
Due to make its way to Netflix sometime in 2017, Little Evil sounds like a more light-hearted take on The Omen, with Variety reporting that the plot revolves around about “…Gary (Scott) who has just married Samantha, the woman of his dreams, only to discover that her six-year-old son may be the Antichrist.”
Known primarily for playing nice guy Ben Wyatt in Parks and Recreation, Scott has flirted with the horror genre on occasion, with an early career role in 1996’s Hellraiser IV: Bloodline, as well as appearing in Piranha 3D and last year’s Krampus, in which he put in a hugely enjoyable turn. He will star in Little Evil opposite Evangeline Lilly (Lost, Ant-Man), who plays Gary’s wife Samantha. Lilly is not without a little previous horror experience, having appeared in a brief and uncredited role in Freddy Vs Jason. Owen Atlas plays the couple’s demonic son, Lucas.
Little Evil begins filming next week in Cleveland, Ohio.
