After a lot of hurdles, A24 and Hulu’s Crystal Lake television series has taken another huge leap forward.
It has been confirmed that actor Will Catlett has come aboard the streaming series.
Known for roles in the 2024 genre projects Abigail and Never Let Go, Catlett has signed on to play Levon Brooks, said to be a “major” character. However, further details are being kept under wraps.
Catlett joins Dead to Me star Linda Cardellini in Crystal Lake. The actress was announced to be taking on the iconic role of Pamela Voorhees this past spring, mother to iconic Friday the 13th villain Jason.
The show, an “expanded prequel” to the legendary Friday the 13th film franchise, has had a long and painful development process. However, it looks like we’re finally moving in the right direction.
In a further update, showrunner Brad Caleb Kane has confirmed construction has begun for the show’s numerous sets. Posting to Instagram, Kane captioned the image “Building a mystery.” At the very top of the photo, we can see a handwritten label stating “Int. Pam Living Room.”
Expected to shoot between August and October 2025, the commencement of pre-production with set construction seems to confirm this timeline.
With things moving along smoothly, more casting updates are expected soon. We can’t wait to see Friday the 13th roar back to life on the small screen. We’ll bring you any further updates as soon as we can.
