After many weeks of whispers and possible names, A24 have finally confirmed the cast for Ti West’s MaXXXine, the final movie in his slasher trilogy.
Long rumoured to be involved, the announcement confirms that Kevin Bacon will indeed be part of the project. Alongside Bacon and Goth we have a slew of popular talent including Guardians of the Galaxy star Elizabeth Debicki, The Watcher’s Bobby Cannavale, Better Call Saul alum Giancarlo Esposito and perhaps most surprisingly, singer Halsey. Currently all involved are cast in undisclosed roles, with only Goth’s character confirmed.
MaXXXine comes on the heels of 2022’s X and its prequel Pearl, released soon after. Both star Mia Goth, with X seeing her take on the dual role of fame-hungry Maxine and retired dancer Pearl. West’s prequel delves further into Pearl’s life, exploring her own drive for fame and her uncontrollable homicidal rages.
MaXXXine will see Goth traversing Los Angeles in the 1980s as Maxine continues her quest for fame and fortune. Unfortunately, just as it has before, death seems to stalk her.
Filming will begin later this month in and around Los Angeles, but MaXXXine does not yet have a release date in place. We will report any further developments as they arise.
