A24 has acquired the rights to Peter Strickland’s In Fabric, a horror film centred on a cursed red dress. Starring Marianne Jean-Bapiste, the film will see her purchase a red dress that she hopes will transform her life. Alas, in true horror fashion, the dress will change it for the worst, unleashing a terror that threatens her and the ones around her.
Strickland previously directed 2012’s intense Berberian Sound Studio, as well as 2014’s romantic mystery The Duke of Burgundy. A collaboration with A24 sounds perfect, considering they’ve released acclaimed genre features like Green Room, The Witch and this year’s impeccably disturbing Hereditary.
A24 plan to release In Fabric in 2019, so look out for it next year.
