From director Michael Sarnoski (Pig), A Quiet Place: Day One was originally slated to sneak into theatres in September 2023. However, Paramount Pictures has pushed the prequel film’s release date back by several months, moving it to March 8th, 2024.
Said to be a spinoff movie, A Quiet Place: Day One is unlikely to see the return of John Krasinki and Emily Blunt’s characters, Lee and Evelyn Abbott. Earlier this year, Deadline noted that, while not much is known about the plot just yet, “the hope is this film would help set up a potential Quiet Place universe that the studio can build on for years to come.”
A Quiet Place: Day One is based on an idea by Krasinski, who directed the first two films in the franchise. Krasinski is producing alongside Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller.
