A Quiet Place is almost single-handedly responsible for the modern resurgence of Paramount Pictures as an enormous name in horror. The two movies alone have grossed over $600 million at the box-office, it’s more than understandable they want this to continue, audiences are eating it up!
Unfortunately, we come bearing the unfortunate news that fans will have to wait just a little bit longer for their next A Quiet Place fix.
Spin-off movie A Quiet Place: Day One has moved from its original release date of March 8th 2024 to the new date of June 28th 2024.
The shift is undoubtedly due to the delays in Hollywood caused by the current strike action. Once this resolves, studios will rush to get their almost-complete projects out to the public. So, it is understandable that A Quiet Place: Day One, a movie already finished, would want to avoid getting lost in this rush and live up to that full box-office potential.
The spin-off will serve as the third entry in the popular franchise and tell how the entire alien invasion began, something we saw just a peek at in A Quiet Place Part II.
Lupita Nyong’o will star alongside Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, and Denis O’Hare. The film is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski from a story by producer John Krasinski.
Exact plot details and character names remain unknown, and it’s likely this veil of mystery will persist for some time.
Day One is not the only continuation of A Quiet Place lore in the works, as A Quiet Place Part III is set to debut in 2025, with Emily Blunt to return.
However, for now, the focus is on this much-anticipated prequel, now set for release on June 28th 2024, remember that date!
