French publication Allocine has revealed that Asobo Studio’s 2019 game A Plague Tale: Innocence is getting a small-screen adaptation.
French director Mattieu Turi (Hostile) is directing the series, which will be filmed in France. The game itself takes place in plague-ridden 14th century France, where young Amica and her little brother Hugo struggle to survive against the odds as they travel through villages devastated by the disease, pursued by Inquisition soldiers and surrounded by unstoppable swarms of rats.
Focus Entertainment, the game’s publisher, is producing the series alongside Merlin Productions. Meanwhile, the sequel game, A Plague Tale: Requiem, is set to release later this year.
