It seems we can’t bring you the casting announcements for Scream 7 fast enough!
Just as we’re about to craft an article on one, two more cast members are announced, phew! So, let’s try and get you all up to speed on the latest actors to join Scream 7.
Undoubtedly the biggest news to drop recently is that Mason Gooding will be returning to the series. Known for portraying Chad Meeks-Martin in the fifth and sixth entries of the slasher franchise, Gooding is currently the only actor from those instalments confirmed to return. Originally thought to be a “creative reset,” breaking away from the previous two sequels, Gooding’s casting comes as a surprise to fans. It is currently unknown if any other previous cast members will be joining Gooding, but we’ll keep our ear to the ground.
Next, actress Anna Camp has boarded the project, allegedly playing a neighbour of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott. Camp is best known for her starring roles in all three Pitch Perfect films, as well as a prominent role in the vampire series True Blood. According to reliable sources, actors Judy Greer and Keri Russell were heavily considered before Camp won the role.
Finally, up and coming actor Sam Rechner has joined Scream 7 in an undisclosed role. Rechner most recently appeared on the big screen in Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical drama The Fabelmans. Currently, the actor is appearing in the second season of Australian Netflix drama Heartbreak High.
The newest cast members will join the likes of 1883’s Isabel May, and Ghostbusters co-stars Celeste O’Connor and Mckenna Grace, among others aboard Scream 7. They will join franchise star Neve Campbell, who is set to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in a leading capacity.
Scream creator Kevin Williamson will direct the feature, with principal photography expected to begin on January 7th 2025.
Scream 7 is set to hit theatres February 27th 2026, and we’ll keep a watchful eye out for any further updates.
