“28 YEARS LATER” SETS CAST

Posted on: May 8th, 2024

A few weeks ago, we reported from a reliable source that Killing Eve star Jodie Comer was “in talks” to star in 28 Years Later.

Now, not only can we confirm the actress’ involvement, but also that of two equally high-profile stars.

Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes, of James Bond and Schindler’s List fame, have officially boarded the project alongside Comer.

This is yet another huge leap forward for a project that is easily one of the most anticipated sequels of all time.

Currently, it remains unknown what roles the three names will play, with plot details being kept completely under wraps.

28 Years Later will see director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland re-team, with original star Cillian Murphy producing alongside. Murphy has teased a return in an acting capacity, but has yet to confirm any solid role.

Sony Pictures will distribute the highly-anticipated movie, after winning a fierce bidding war. The studio will allot $20 million to the film, in a deal that they hope will launch a new trilogy.

To that end, we recently reported that Candyman director Nia DaCosta had been approached to tackled the untitled sequel to 28 Years. However, no confirmation of her involvement has emerged as of this writing.

So, things are rapidly moving forward over at Sony Pictures, and with this being such a high-profile project, we’ll be keeping a close eye on further developments.
