An absolutely gorgeous new poster has been revealed for horror-drama Nina Forever to go with the film’s upcoming release this February. As beautifully morbid as the film itself, the poster shows a recently-deceased Nina – broken leg, blood and all – flicking rose petals. This simple image perfectly encapsulates the film’s blending of horror and romance, showing the delicate balance between beauty and terror.
Rather than focusing on the unique love triangle like the US poster – which you can also see below – this one puts Nina at the centre stage and rightfully so. It is her that propels the film’s plot and this poster wants to remind us that Nina is as important to the audience, as she is to the characters in the film.
Synopsis:
Holly (Abigail Hardingham), begins a relationship with her co-worker Rob (Cian Barry), who is grieving over the recent death of his girlfriend Nina (Fiona O’Shaughnessy) from a motorcycle accident. Yet every time they make love, Nina appears; tangled, bloody and still fixated on Rob. Holly doesn’t freak out and run – she can deal with the dead girl sharing their bed, their lives and their minds. If it’s what Rob needs, it’s what she’ll do, regardless of the consequences.
Nina Forever is a wonderfully dark horror romance and one that you should definitely add to your watch list. It’s decision to opt for a more serious tone than films like Life After Beth and Clinger, works surprisingly well, making it a touching and slightly witty indie flick.
Nina Forever will be released digitally in the UK on 15th February and on DVD and Blu-Ray on 22nd February.
