With The Walking Dead’s audience numbers consistently decreasing, it seems like viewers are no longer interested in Rick and co’s zombie battles. However, AMC is not losing faith in its undead world and has renewed its spin-off show Fear the Walking Dead for a fourth season.
Season 3 is yet to premiere, so is the channel getting a bit ahead of itself? On a positive note, it does bode well for the new season’s story and AMC’s confidence is impressive. Perhaps Fear the Walking Dead can attract the dwindling fans of The Walking Dead who probably still love zombies, but are just keen for something different.
Fear The Walking Dead has also secured new show-runners in Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg who join the series from season 4. When speaking about their upcoming involvement, the president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV, Joel Stillerman, said:
“We’re very excited to continue the journey of ‘Fear The Walking Dead,’ and truly look forward to working with the talented team of Andrew Chambliss, Ian Goldberg, and Scott Gimple”
Chambliss and Goldberg themselves said:
“We are thrilled to be joining ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ and couldn’t be more excited to work alongside the wonderful team at AMC on this show. We love this universe and are truly honoured to have the chance to contribute to it.”
Be sure to tune in to season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead from 4th June.
